Data Faker, is a Google Sheets add-on by Dark Seahorses that generates realistic fake data for testing, prototyping, and demonstrations. Built on top of fakerjs, it provides an easy-to-use interface for creating mock data directly in your spreadsheets.

Getting Started

Installation

1. Install from Google Workspace Marketplace:
   • Install Data Faker add-on
   • Or open any Google Sheet and go to Extensions → Add-ons → Get add-ons
   • Search for “Data Faker”
   • Click Install
2. Access the add-on:
   • Open the Google Sheet where you want to generate data
   • Click Extensions → Data Faker → Open
   • The Data Faker sidebar will appear on the right side of your screen

First-Time Authorization

The first time you use the add-on, Google will ask you to authorize it:

1. Click Data Faker → Open
2. A dialog will appear asking for permissions
3. Click Continue or Review Permissions
4. Select your Google account
5. Click Allow to grant the necessary permissions

Note: The add-on needs permission to access your spreadsheet data in order to insert the generated fake data.
